Water use in soda ash making is the subject of HG/T 3998-2008, a recommended chemical industry standard. It defines the terms attached to the water intake quota, gives the calculation methods and states the quantity of water allowed per tonne of soda ash produced. It is intended for the management of water withdrawal in ammonia-soda and soda ash production processes. The figures are worked out with GB/T 12452 and GB/T 18820.
