HG/T 4000-2008 is the English-translated version of 烧碱取水定额.
HG/T 4000-2008 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard that sets the norm of water intake for caustic soda production. It gives the terms and definitions used for the water quota, the methods of calculation, and the fixed quantity of water allowed for each tonne of product. It is written for the management of water use in caustic soda plants, covering the diaphragm process and the metal anode process. The water-accounting provisions rest on GB/T 12452, GB/T 18820 and GB/T 18916.3-2002. Classified G01 in China and 71.010 internationally, it belongs with the general documents of the chemical industry rather than with any single product specification. Issued on 1 February 2008, it has applied since 1 July 2008.
