Scope
HG/T 3408-2007 is the English-translated version of 2-氨基-8-萘酚-6-磺酸（γ酸）.
HG/T 3408-2007 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for 2-amino-8-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid, the intermediate commonly called gamma acid. It fixes the requirements for the product and gives the sampling and test methods, the inspection rules and the rules on marking, labelling, packaging, transport and storage. The standard serves the quality inspection of that intermediate, which is used mainly in the dye industry and is grouped under classification G56. Its analytical work relies on GB/T 601, GB/T 603, GB/T 1250-1989, GB/T 2386-2006, GB/T 6682 and GB/T 7531-1987. The previous edition, HG/T 3408-2000, is superseded by it. Issued on 20 July 2007, it has applied since 1 January 2008.
