HG/T 3240-2007 is the English-translated version of 电脑膜层测厚仪.
HG/T 3240-2007 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for microcomputer coating thickness gauges. It fixes the types of these battery-powered digital instruments and their technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, and closes with marking, packaging, transport and storage. It applies to gauges that work on the principle of electromagnetic induction and read the thickness of a coating laid on a magnetic substrate. It quotes GB/T 15464, GB 9969.1 and JB/T 9329. This edition replaces HG/T 3240-1987, which dealt with enamel thickness testers. Issued on 22 September 2007, it has applied since 1 April 2008.
