1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of rubber household gloves.

This standard applies to velvet-lined and smooth-lined gloves for household use made of natural rubber latex or nitrile rubber latex, or a combination of natural rubber latex and nitrile rubber latex as the main material.

The safe and correct use of gloves is outside the scope of this standard.

Foreword

This document was issued on 28 July 2023 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, and has been in force since 1 February 2024.

It replaces HG/T 2888-2010.

Edition history and citation

HG/T 2888-2023 replaces HG/T 2888-2010. A specification, drawing or test report that cites the older number is pointing at a document that is no longer the one in force, and the two editions can differ in requirements, in test methods or in scope.

Where an edition is replaced, the Chinese standardization system keeps the number and changes the year: the number identifies the subject, the year identifies the text. That is why a citation without a year is ambiguous and a citation with one is not.

HG/T 2888-2023 is classified under ICS 83.140.99, in the field of rubber and plastics industries. ICS is the International Classification for Standards, the same scheme used by ISO and by the national bodies of most countries, which is what allows a Chinese standard to be placed beside its foreign counterparts on subject rather than on number.
