GB/T 9999.2-2018 is the English-translated version of 中国标准连续出版物号第2部分：ISSN.

GB/T 9999.2-2018 is the Chinese standard "China standard serial number -- Part 2: ISSN". Its scope clause reads: This part of GB/T 9999 specifies the structure, distribution and use rules, display position and method of the Chinese serial serial number, and related metadata and system management and maintenance.

This section applies to the continuous resources of any carrier published in the People's Republic of China, including traditional periodicals, newspapers, and annual publications.

Serials and other serial publications also include more generalized continuous resources, that is, continuous distribution on any carrier without prior determination of the end time.

Publications. Each Chinese serial serial number is unique to a particular serial or other continuum on a particular carrier. Identifier. This section also provides the mechanism of "Interconnection ISSN" (ISSN-L) to provide for the release of the same continuous resource on different carriers.

Link or connection. For various books, audio and video products, musical score publications, audiovisual works, and musical works that already have a numbering system, For a continuous resource, you can add a Chinese serial serial number in addition to your own standard number.

1 Scope

2 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

2.1 Continuing resource

A resource that does not have a definitive termination date at the time of publication, including serial publications and continuously updated integrated resources.

Note 1. Continuity resources are usually issued in continuous or unified batches, and they are usually identified by numerical and/or chronological order.

Note 2. Continuity resources include serial publications, such as newspapers, periodicals, etc., as well as current integrated resources, such as continuously updated leaflet publications and continuous updates.

2.2 Serial

Continuity resources that are issued consecutively in an individual period or in part, are usually numbered, and the end time is not determined in advance.

Examples. serials of journals, e-journals, continuity lists, annual reports, newspapers, single-bank resources, and serial publications that are distributed over a period of time

In the territory of the People's Republic of China, the serial structure of the ISSN is the same as that of the serial structure.

2.4.1 International Standard Serial Number (ISSN)

A set of ISSN networks assigned to a contiguous resource prefixed by the Latin alphabet "ISSN" followed by 8 digits (including a check digit)
