Introduction
Fire resistance testing methods for building components are used to evaluate their fire resistance performance. Due to the diversity and complexity of fire conditions, real fire tests are employed.
Evaluating the fire resistance performance of building components under actual fire conditions presents significant technical challenges; therefore, it is necessary to establish standardized test conditions and adhere to relevant standards.
A standardized testing procedure is used to test the fire resistance performance of building components. This ensures that test results obtained from similar building components are comparable and can be used to...
For further comparison and analysis.
The GB/T 9978 series of standards aims to provide a unified test method for evaluating the fire resistance performance of various building structural components. It is proposed that ten departments...

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5907.1 and GB/T 9978.1-2008, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
fire resistance tests the process of testing the fire resistance of building partition components and structural components under the same conditions.
Note. The fire resistance performance of a component is only related to the duration of the test, and not to the duration of the actual fire.
4 Standard Test Procedures
4.1 Overview
The primary purpose of fire resistance testing is to determine the thermal response of building components when subjected to a fully developed fire inside the building or its enclosure.
Fire resistance test results can be used to classify building components. Fire resistance testing is suitable for specific fire scenarios in a laboratory environment, but understanding its...
In cases of limitations and specific objectives, this approach can also be applied to other building fire scenarios.
In order to conduct experiments under laboratory conditions and obtain reproducible and repeatable experimental results, it is advisable to simplify the standard test procedures.
Some factors that may alter test results, particularly significant differences in materials or structure, are not included in the standard test procedures.
Within a certain range.
Note. Paying attention to these factors during the use of experimental procedures can improve their reproducibility and repeatability.
4.2 Heating Mode
The standard temperature rise curve in the refractory test furnace described in section 6.1.1 of GB/T 9978.1-2008 uses materials with known melting points in a fire.
Using melting time and other parameters as references, a standard test environment representative of exposure to fully developed fire conditions is provided in this test environment.
Under these conditions, the fire resistance performance of different representative building components can be compared.
Note. The standard temperature rise curve is significantly correlated with the actual temperature of a building fire, but it cannot represent the actual fire situation.
