Scope

GB/T 8169-2008 is the English-translated version of 包装用缓冲材料振动传递特性试验方法.

GB/T 8169-2008 specifies the test equipment, the test samples, the test procedure and the test report for the vibration transmissibility test on packaging cushioning materials.

Clause 1 applies the standard to assessing, under sinusoidal vibration, the vibration transmission or isolation properties of packaging cushioning materials and their ability to protect the contents of the package, and restricts it to nonlinear elastic cushioning materials.

Clause 4 states the test principle: a vibration system made up of the mass, the cushioning material, the fixture and the shaker reproduces the vibration absorption and transmission behaviour of the cushioning material, which the standard calls the test sample, the acceleration of the mass and of the shaker table is recorded, and the result is expressed as a vibration transmissibility against frequency characteristic curve.

Clause 5 covers the test equipment, requiring of the shaker a sufficiently large table, sufficient strength, rigidity and load carrying capacity, a lowest resonance frequency above the highest test frequency and a flat table whose maximum departure from level stays within 0.3 degrees, and requiring of the fixture enough rigidity and strength to keep the mass block in vertical vibration, with its structure shown in the informative Appendix A and with the friction between fixture and mass block not disturbing the vibration response of the mass.

The draft breaks off after 5.2.1, so the clauses on test samples, procedure and report are not shown and the page carries no table of contents from which their titles could be taken.

Clause 3 carries two entries resting on the terms of GB/T 4122.1, but the draft has run their term names and their bodies together, leaving one that concerns a ratio between the acceleration of the mass and that of the shaker table and one that concerns a curve plotted with frequency along one axis and transmitted acceleration along the other, so neither can be reported as a named defined term.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 4122.1 and GB/T 4857.2.

Against the 1987 edition the foreword records added references and terminology, changed requirements for the shaker and for the number of test samples, a new provision on the vertical position of the fixture, the test sample and the centre of gravity of the mass, and clearer provisions on the acceleration transmissibility during the test and on the output curve of transmissibility against frequency.

The standard is handled by the National Packaging Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC49); it replaces GB/T 8169-1987, was issued on 2008-06-10 and has applied since 2009-01-01.

Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 8169-1987 "Test Method for Packaging Features passed cushioning material vibration."

This standard compared with GB/T 8169-1987, the main changes are as follows.

--- Increase in the content references, terminology;

--- Modify the test equipment shaker relevant requirements;

--- Modify the number of test samples of the relevant requirements;

--- Increasing the predetermined vertical position of the fixture, the test sample, the mass center of gravity;

--- Clear during the test pass rate of acceleration transmissibility;

Appendix A of this standard is an informative annex.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the test equipment package cushioning material vibration transmission characteristic test, the test samples, test procedures and test reports.

This standard applies to the assessment of vibration transmission cushion packaging materials (isolation) and the properties of the contents of the package of insurance under sinusoidal vibration effect Care ability.

This standard applies to nonlinear elastic cushioning material.

3 Terms

GB/T 4122.1 and established the following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

4 Test principle

5 Test Equipment

5.1 Shaker
