This section is one of the national standard "cap nut" product family standard. The series includes.

1 Scope

Part 4 of China's national standard for acorn nuts, covering welded hexagon low-dome cap nuts. Two things distinguish this member from the rest of the series. Its size range runs to M64, far above the others, which puts it into structural and heavy machinery fastening rather than the general engineering sizes; and its cap is a low spherical dome rather than a full one, which keeps the nut's overall height down - on a large nut a full dome would add a great deal of length, and where fasteners project into a walkway or a working space that matters. The welded construction is what makes the large sizes possible, since forming a deep cap integrally at M64 is not practical. This part covers thread sizes M4 to M64 in property classes 5 and 6 and in grades A1-50, CU3 and CU6, in product grade A up to 16 mm and grade B above.

This section GB/T 802 specifies the thread size is M4 ~ M64, property class 5,6, A1-50, CU3 or CU6 grade products Class A and class B Hexagon welding low spherical cap nut. A grade for D<=16mm; class B for D > 16mm nut.
