Scope

GB/T 802.1-2008 is the English-translated version of 组合式盖形螺母.

GB/T 802.1-2008 is Part 1 of the Chinese acorn nut series and specifies assembling type acorn nuts - a nut body closed by a separate cap clinched onto it - with thread sizes M4 to M24, in property classes 6 and 8 for steel, A2-50, A2-70, A4-50 and A4-70 for stainless steel and CU2, CU3 and AL4 for non-ferrous metals, product grade A for D <= 16 mm and grade B for D > 16 mm.

Table 1 gives the full dimensions for each size in the coarse thread 1st series and the fine pitch 2nd and 3rd series: countersink diameter da, bearing face diameter dw, width across corners e, width across flats s, wrenching height mw, and the dimensions dk, h, m, b, SR and delta of the body and cap.

Table 2 sets the technical specifications by material: 6H thread tolerance, mechanical properties to GB/T 3098.2, 3098.4, 3098.15 and 3098.10, tolerances to GB/T 3103.1, finishes (oxide, electroplating, zinc flake, hot dip galvanizing for steel), surface discontinuities to GB/T 5779.2 and acceptance and packaging to GB/T 90.1 and GB/T 90.2; marking follows GB/T 1237.

It replaces GB/T 802-1988, adding the M4 size, the fine pitch series, the dimensions dw, da and mw, stainless steel and non-ferrous materials, and zinc flake and hot dip galvanized finishes for steel nuts.

This part is one of the product series of national standards for acorn nuts. The series comprises:

- GB/T 802.1-2008 Acorn nuts - Assembling type;

- GB/T 802.2 Hexagon acorn nuts - Welded type;

- GB/T 802.3 Hexagon flange acorn nuts - Welded type;

- GB/T 802.4 Hexagon low domed acorn nuts - Welded type;

- GB/T 802.5 Non-metallic insert hexagon lock acorn nuts - Welded type;

- GB/T 923 Hexagon acorn nuts.

This part is Part 1 of GB/T 802.

This part replaces GB/T 802-1988, Acorn nuts - Assembling type.

Compared with GB/T 802-1988, the main changes in this part are as follows:

- the thread size M4 has been added (see Table 1);

- the fine pitch thread size series (2nd series and 3rd series) have been added (see Table 1);

- the bearing face diameter dw, the countersink diameter da and the wrenching height mw have been added (see Table 1);

- stainless steel and non-ferrous metal materials have been added (see Table 2);

- non-electrolytically applied zinc flake coatings and hot dip galvanized coatings have been added as surface finishes for steel nuts (see Table 2).

This part was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.

This part is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Fasteners of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 85).
