Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020,

Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of

standardizing documents.

This document is one of the series national standards of "Square Neck Bolts", of which

the following documents has been issued.

-- GB/T 10, Countersunk head square neck bolts;

-- GB/T 12, Cup head square neck bolts;

-- GB/T 14, Mushroom head square neck bolts;

-- GB/T 794, Strengthened cup head square neck bolts;

-- GB/T 801, Cup head square neck bolts with small head and short neck - Product

grade B.

This document replaces GB/T 801-1998 Cup head square neck bolts with small head

and short neck - Product grade B; compared with GB/T 801-1998, in addition to

editorial changes, the main technical changes of this document are as follows.

a) Remove the "variety of commodity fasteners, which shall be preferred" (see

Chapter 1 of the 1998 edition);

b) Unify the referenced thread standards as GB/T 193 and GB/T 9145 (see Chapter

2, Table 2; Chapter 2 and Table 2 of the 1998 edition);

c) Remove GB/T 5779.3 from the requirements for surface defects of steel bolts (see

Table 2 of the 1998 edition);

d) Add stainless steel material and technical requirements (see Table 2).

This document revises and adopts ISO 8678.1988 Cup head square neck bolts with

small head and short neck - Product grade B.

Add a chapter "Terms and Definitions" to this document.

The technical differences between this document and ISO 8678.1988 and the reasons

are as follows.

-- Use the normatively cited GB/T 5276 to replace ISO 225, to adapt to the technical

conditions in China (see Chapter 4);

-- Use the normatively cited GB/T 3106 to replace ISO 888, to adapt to the technical

conditions in China (see Table 1);

1 Scope

This document specifies the type, size, technical conditions and marking of cup head

square neck bolts with small head and short neck.

This document is applicable to cup head square neck bolts with small head and short

neck with thread specifications of M6 ~ M20, performance grades of 4.8, 8.8, 10.9, A2-

70, A4-70, A2-50, A4-50 and product grade of B.
