GB/T 778.5-2018 — This part of GB/T 778 specifies the selection, installation and special requirements of water meters for single water meters, double water meters, coaxial water meters and connecting pipes. Seek guidelines for the first use of new or improved water meters to ensure accurate and stable measurements and reliable readings. This section applies to water meters that measure the volume of drinking cold water and hot water in a closed full pipe and are equipped with a cumulative flow indicating device. This section applies to both water-based and mechanical-based water meters, as well as based on electrical or electronic principles and based on mechanical principles, A water meter used to measure the volume of cold water and hot water. This section also applies to electronic aids. Usually the electronic aid is an option. However, national or international regulations may determine certain auxiliary devices as necessary for the use of the water meter. The recommendations in this section apply to water meters that are defined as integrated meters and that continuously measure the volume of water flowing through any technique. Note. National regulations are higher than the provisions of this section.

Foreword
GB/T 778 "Drinking cold water meter and hot water meter" is divided into the following five parts.
--- Part 1. Measurement requirements and technical requirements;
--- Part 2. Test methods;
--- Part 3. Test report format;
--- Part 4. Non-metering requirements not included in GB/T 778.1;
--- Part 5. Installation requirements.
This part is the fifth part of GB/T 778.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB/T 778.2-2007 "Measurement of water flow in closed full pipes. Drinking cold water meter and hot water meter. Part 2
Minute. Installation Requirements. The main technical content changes compared with GB/T 778.2-2007 are as follows.
---Modified standard name;
--- Revised scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of GB/T 778.2-2007);
--- Added the term "adapter" to "converter" (see 3.3, 3.4);
--- Remove other conditions that should be considered when installing the water meter (see 6.2.21 of GB/T 778.2-2007);
--- Increased the requirement that the plug-in water meter interface cannot use the adapter (see 7.2.8);
--- Removed the contents of the "impact or vibration transmitted or caused by the water supply facility" in the protection of the water meter (see GB/T 778.2-2007)

--- Removed the "stress and imbalance caused by water supply facilities" in the protection of water meters (see 8.3.5 of GB/T 778.2-2007);
--- Increased installation requirements for cartridge-mounted water meters (see 8.3.4);

--- Removed the requirement of "fixed piping system" in personal safety (see 8.4.2 of GB/T 778.2-2007);
--- Revised the requirements for the quality of water meters in the requirements for the passage of large-scale water meters (see 8.5.1, GB/T 778.2-2007)
