1 Foreword

GB/T 7387-1999 was issued by State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of the PRC on 31 August 1999 and has been in force since 1 June 2000.

It replaces the earlier edition GB/T 7387-1987.

The GB/T prefix marks a recommended standard. It is not law in itself: it becomes binding when a contract names it, when a regulation or a mandatory standard refers to it, or when a producer declares conformity with it.

2 Scope Preview

This standard specifies the classification, labeling, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of reference electrode used for cathodic protection of steel ship hull. This standard is applicable to manufacturing and acceptance of reference electrode. It may also be taken as reference to the manufacturing and acceptance of reference electrode used for cathodic protection of other steel structure in seawater.
