Foreword

GB/T 6809 "Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine Parts and Systems Terms" consists of the following nine parts.

- Part 1. Fixings and external covers;

- Part 2. Main moving parts;

- Part 3. Valve components, camshaft drives and drive mechanisms;

- Part 4. pressurization and intake and exhaust piping systems;

- Part 5. Cooling systems;

- Part 6. Lubrication systems;

- Part 7. Regulating system;

- Part 8. Starting system;

- Part 9. Monitoring systems.

This part is part 5 of GB/T 6809.

This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces GB/T 6809.5-2010. Compared with GB/T 6809.5-2010, the main contents are as follows.

--- Added normative reference documents (see Chapter 2);

--- Added 10 noun terms (see 4.2.7 to 4.2.28) for "fresh water coolers".

This part uses the translation method equivalent to ISO 7967-5.:2010 "Reciprocating internal combustion engine parts and systems terminology Part 5. Cold but the system. " in this part of the normative reference to the international documents have a consistent correspondence between the following documents.

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 6809 specifies the reciprocating internal combustion engine cooling system terminology.

The ISO 2710 classifies the reciprocating internal combustion engines and defines the basic vocabulary and characteristics of these internal combustion engines.

3 Cooling system classification

The cooling system type is shown in Figure 1.

a When the cooling medium is mainly water, the term "water cooling" is also available;

b When the cooling medium is only oil, use the term "oil cool";

c When the cooling medium is oil and air, use the term "oil/air cooling".
