Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard modifies and revise GB/T 6098.1-2006 "Test method for cotton fiber length - Part 1. Roller analyzer method".

After the reservation, the technical content still applicable in this section is retained.

This standard replaces GB/T 6098.1-2006. Compared with GB/T 6098.1-2006, this standard has major changes in addition to editorial changes.

As follows.

--- Removed the normative reference document GB/T 5705 "Textile terms (cotton part)", added JJF (Textile) 024 "Roller type Fiber Length Analyzer Calibration Specifications;

--- Increased grouping by 1mm group distance, grouping by 2mm group distance can still be used;

--- Revised expressions for the calculation formulas for each length index;

--- Deleted the original 5.3 computer or computing disk;

---Integrate Chapters 5 and 6 and change the balance to. Gradation <= 0.1mg; Gradation <= 0.01mg (for weighing the fibers after grouping the amount);

--- Increased when only measuring the cotton short fiber rate, divided into 16mm and below and 16mm above two groups of weighing calculation;

--- Increased the precision of the grouping test according to the group distance of 1mm, and modified the precision of the grouping test according to the group distance of 2mm;

--- Modified test report;

--- Deleted the original Appendix A (informative) "Calculation disc use method";

--- Original Appendix D (informative) "Test record sheet for cotton fiber length (roller method)", modified as Appendix A (informative) Record) "cotton fiber length (rolla method) test record sheet";

--- Original Appendix C (informative annex) "Grubbs test", to Appendix B (informative annex) "Outliers Gera Grubbs test";

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method of measuring the length of cotton fibers using a roller type analyzer.

This standard applies to the determination of cotton fiber length indicators, including the determination of the length of semi-finished cotton sliver in various processes of lint and spinning.

This standard does not apply to fibers taken from a mixture of cotton and other fibers, and fibers taken from cotton or cotton fabrics.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Body length modallength the length of the fiber that accounts for the greatest mass or number of fibers in the cotton fiber length distribution (also known as the length of the mode).

[GB/T 3291.1-1997, definition 2.22] 3.2 Quality length in the cotton fiber length distribution, the mass-weighted average length of each group of fibers above the main body length.

[GB/T 5705-1985, definition 1.2.26] 3.3 Short fiber rate shortfibrecontent the percentage of the mass (or number) of short fibers in a cotton fiber that is shorter than a certain length limit.

[GB/T 5705-1985, definition 1.2.29] Note. In this standard, the short fiber length limit is identified by the type of cotton. The limit of fine cotton is 16mm; the limit of long cotton is 20mm. For special varieties of cotton Flowers, the length is close to the long-pile cotton limit of long-staple cotton, and vice versa.

Weighted average length averagelengthofmass the average length of the cotton fiber length distribution, weighted by the mass of each group of fibers.
