1 Foreword

GB/T 596-2026 was issued by State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China on 28 August 2026 and has been in force since 1 December 2026.

It replaces the earlier edition GB/T 596-2008.

2 Scope

This document specifies the classification and marking, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging and storage for marine bronze male-threaded globe stop-check valves (hereinafter referred to as "globe stop-check valves"). This document is applicable to the design, manufacture and acceptance of globe stop-check valves used in marine piping systems for seawater, fresh water, fuel oil, lubricating oil, air and steam with a temperature not exceeding 250 °C.
