Scope

GB/T 48229-2026 is the English-translated version of 卫星遥感影像地表反射率产品规范.

Surface reflectance products derived from satellite remote sensing imagery are the subject of this specification. Surface reflectance is the fraction of incoming light reflected by the ground after atmospheric effects are accounted for, and products of this kind are used for land monitoring, agriculture, forestry, environmental assessment and resource surveys.

The standard is relevant to satellite data providers, remote sensing processing centers, geospatial software developers, research institutions and organizations that buy or use such image products. It was prepared under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and as a recommended national standard (GB/T) it is voluntary unless adopted by a data supply contract or project specification.

Foreign agencies and companies that use Chinese satellite imagery, or that exchange data products with Chinese partners, can read it to understand how such products are specified. A defined product specification also helps users compare imagery from different missions and processing chains. It takes effect on 1 April 2027.
