GB/T 48220-2026 is the English-translated version of 爆炸物品公共安全管理术语.

This is a terminology standard for explosives management for public security. It collects and defines the terms used when regulating, storing, transporting, using and controlling explosive articles from a public safety standpoint. Public security authorities, licensed blasting and explosives companies, safety regulators, trainers, translators and legal professionals benefit from a shared vocabulary, because inconsistent terms cause confusion in rules, licences and technical documents.

It was prepared under the Ministry of Public Security and is a recommended national standard (GB/T). Being a terminology document, it does not set out technical requirements itself but supports other documents that do. Foreign companies and advisers dealing with Chinese explosives regulation, or translating related regulatory material, can use it to check how key concepts are named and defined in the national system. It takes effect on 1 April 2027.
