This document, Part 2 of the generic qualification guidelines for semiconductor devices, introduces the concept of the mission profile in reliability qualification. A mission profile describes the conditions a device is expected to experience during its use, and it is a basis for deciding how reliability should be evaluated.

Semiconductor manufacturers, reliability and quality engineers, automotive and industrial electronics designers, test laboratories, and customers who set qualification requirements can use it to understand how the idea is applied. It is a recommended national standard (GB/T), so it is voluntary unless a contract or customer specification requires it. The standard adopts an international standard.

It forms part of a series, so it is best read together with the other parts of the same set. A shared understanding of mission profiles lets suppliers and customers discuss qualification in the same terms. It becomes effective on 1 April 2027.
