Scope
GB/T 48180-2026 is the English-translated version of 化工用屏蔽电动机技术规范.
Canned motors have the stator and rotor sealed off from the process fluid, which allows pumps to run without a dynamic shaft seal. They are therefore used in chemical plants handling hazardous or valuable liquids. This document is a technical specification for canned motors for the chemical industry.
Motor and pump manufacturers can use it to define product requirements, and chemical plant owners, engineering contractors and procurement departments may cite it when specifying equipment. Test and inspection bodies can refer to it when assessing a motor against its specification.
As a recommended national standard (GB/T), it is voluntary unless required by a contract or another rule. It was issued on 28 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 March 2027. The technical provisions, such as performance, construction and tests, are found in the full text and are not summarised here.
