Operators of natural gas networks need a systematic way to judge whether a transmission system can deliver as intended. This document establishes an indicator system for the reliability evaluation of gas transmission pipeline network systems and specifies the content, process and related requirements, including pipeline segmentation, evaluation indicators, data collection, reliability calculation, determination of reliability targets and the evaluation report. It applies to onshore, in-service, long-distance natural gas transmission pipeline networks.

Pipeline operators, network planners, asset integrity and risk teams, engineering consultancies and regulators can use it to structure assessments and report results in a consistent form. Annexes cover the data collection list and the calculation of reliability for pipeline segments and compressor units.

It is a recommended national standard (GB/T), voluntary unless adopted by contract or rule, and it takes effect on 1 March 2027.
