Scope
GB/T 48104-2026 is the English-translated version of 光伏组件报废评价技术要求.
This document sets out technical requirements for evaluating the scrapping of photovoltaic modules. As the first generations of installed solar capacity age, owners and recyclers need a consistent way to judge whether a module has reached the end of its useful life, and this standard supports that decision.
It is relevant to solar power plant owners and operators, module manufacturers with take-back responsibilities, recycling and dismantling companies, and evaluation or inspection organizations. Regulators and asset managers may also draw on it when dealing with decommissioned equipment. It is a recommended (voluntary) national standard taking effect on 1 March 2027, so it becomes applicable when contracts, internal policies or local programmes adopt it. For companies active in the Chinese solar sector, it indicates how end-of-life judgments are expected to be framed as the installed base grows older.
