This standard specifies test methods for traction batteries of electric vehicles while they are in service. It covers general test conditions, the items to be inspected and estimated, the inspection and estimation methods, and the reporting of results, and it applies to the inspection of in-service traction batteries. It also includes informative annexes on sensor schematics and on a results reporting form.

Potential users include battery inspection and maintenance providers, vehicle makers, second-use and recycling operators, fleet owners and test laboratories. The standard takes effect on 1 March 2027. It is a recommended national standard (GB/T) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Companies that assess battery condition during use, for example when vehicles are serviced or traded, can apply a shared inspection routine.
