Scope
GB/T 48087-2026 is the English-translated version of 胡椒粉质量通则.
Pepper powder is a ground spice used in households, restaurants and food manufacturing, and this standard is a general rule for its quality. It gives producers, buyers and inspectors a shared reference for describing and assessing the product consistently.
Spice processors and packers, distributors, exporters and importers, food retailers and catering buyers, and laboratories that test spices are the people most likely to use it. For traders the value lies in having one national document to point to when a purchase specification must say what acceptable pepper powder looks like, especially in cross-border purchasing.
It is a recommended (GB/T) standard, so it is voluntary. It deals with product quality rather than setting food safety rules, and it applies where contracts, product standards or labelling practice refer to it. It was issued on 28 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2027.
