Scope

GB/T 48083-2026 is the English-translated version of 炒制辣椒酱质量通则.

Stir-fried chili sauce is a condiment widely produced and sold in China, and this standard is a general rule for its quality. A general quality rule gives manufacturers, buyers and inspectors a common reference for how the quality of the product is described and judged.

Condiment and food producers, distributors and exporters, retail and catering buyers, and food testing laboratories are the people most likely to use it. Importers sourcing Chinese chili sauces may also use it to understand the quality framework applied to the product, for example when agreeing specifications with a supplier.

As a recommended (GB/T) standard it is voluntary. It deals with product quality rather than setting food safety rules, and it applies where contracts, product standards or labelling practice refer to it. It helps trading partners agree on what quality means for this sauce. It was issued on 28 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2027.
