Scope

GB/T 48081-2026 is the English-translated version of 辣椒酱质量通则.

This recommended national standard sets out a general rule for the quality of chili sauce, a widely produced condiment in the Chinese food industry. It is aimed at manufacturers and processors who formulate and produce chili sauce, quality control staff, testing laboratories, retailers and buyers who need a shared reference when specifying or assessing product quality. Importers and trading companies dealing in Chinese condiments will also find it useful when drawing up product specifications and supply agreements.

The standard was issued on 28 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2027. As a GB/T document it is voluntary unless referenced in a contract, a regulation or a product standard. The long lead time before implementation gives producers time to review their formulations, quality systems and documentation against the new general rule.
