GB/T 47993-2026 is the English-translated version of 橡胶捆扎带通用要求和试验方法.

GB/T 47993-2026 is a Chinese national standard on general requirements and test methods for rubber bands. It adopts ISO 22843:2020. The standard specifies the classification, requirements, packaging and marking of natural rubber bands for general use, such as everyday bundling or packaging, and describes the related test methods.

It does not apply to rubber bands containing synthetic rubber, or to rubber bands for engineering applications, food contact or medical use. Its terms include rubber band, lay flat length and cut width.

ISO 37, ISO 188, ISO 2781 and ISO 23529 are listed among its normative references. Issued on 30 July 2026 and applicable from 1 February 2027.

This document adopts ISO 22843:2020 "General requirements and test methods for rubber strapping".

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, requirements, packaging, and marking of natural rubber strapping for general purposes (such as daily bundling or packaging), and describes the relevant... Regarding the experimental methods.

This document does not apply to rubber strapping containing synthetic rubber, or rubber strapping for engineering applications, food contact, or medical use.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Rubber band

An elastic ring band used to hold items together.

3.2 Lay flat length

Half the circumference of the inner ring of the rubber strapping.

The distance between the two cut surfaces of the rubber strapping.
