1 Scope
GB/T 47591-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering what identifies an EV traction battery - the plate and label on the pack, the electronic identifier readable from the vehicle, and the information each carries: chemistry, capacity, manufacturer, date and the traceability code that follows the pack into its second life or its recycling. This document specifies the information as well as information access control for plates, labels, and electronic identifications of traction batteries (hereinafter referred to as "batteries") for road vehicles. This document applies to traction battery packs installed in electric vehicles; other types of battery packs shall refer to this document for guidance.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions, as well as those given in GB/T 19596, apply.
3.1 plate A rigid marker that bears battery pack information, affixed to the battery pack by means such as riveting, welding, or adhesive bonding. [Source: GB/T 25978-2018, 3.1, modified]
3.2 label A flexible marker that bears battery pack information, affixed to the battery pack by means such as adhesion. [Source: GB/T 25978-2018, 3.2, modified]
3.3 electronic identification A carrier that enables reading or writing of battery information by electronic means such as a QR code, radio frequency identification (RFID), and near field communication (NFC).
4.1 Basic requirements
4.1.1 The information on the battery pack label or plate shall at least include the wording "Battery Identity", the name of the battery pack manufacturer, the battery pack code, and the electronic identification.
4.1.2 The plate or label shall be at least affixed at a position on the battery pack that is easy to read; it may also be presented by means such as the instruction manual, the on- board system, or by being affixed at a relevant location on the vehicle.
4.2 Information on plates and labels
4.2.1 Wording "Battery Identity" The wording "Battery Identity" shall be marked in a prominent position on the plate or label.
4.2.2 Name of the battery pack manufacturer The name of the battery pack manufacturer shall be consistent with the manufacturer name corresponding to the first three digits of the manufacturer code in GB/T 34014.
4.2.3 Battery pack code The coding regulation for battery pack shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 34014.
4.2.4 Electronic identification
4.2.4.1 The electronic identification shall include at least a QR code, which shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 41208 or GB/T 18284.
4.2.4.2 In addition to QR code, the electronic identification may also support communication technologies such as RFID and NFC.
4.3 Performance requirements for plates and labels The performance of plates and labels shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 25978.
4.4 Dimensions The dimensions of plates and labels shall be such as to ensure clear legibility to the naked eye; the size of the electronic identification QR code shall be not less than 10 mm × 10 mm.
5.1 Overview
5.1.1 The information for electronic identifications of batteries shall include basic battery information, battery operation information, battery recycling and utilization information, and other information (optional). The information list and examples of completion are provided in Appendix A.
5.1.2 The information for electronic identifications shall be classified into two categories. mandatory and optional. Except for the information marked "optional", all other information shall be mandatory. For the information marked "optional", enterprises can fill in according to their actual situation.
5.2.1 Basic information of battery pack
5.2.1.1 Manufacturing information The manufacturing information shall include the following.
a) the battery pack code, the coding regulation for which shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 34014;
b) the name of the battery pack manufacturer, which shall be consistent with the manufacturer name corresponding to the first three digits of the manufacturer code in GB/T 34014;
c) the registered trademark;
d) the country of manufacture of the battery pack;
e) the communication address;
f) the production date;
g) the official website of the battery pack manufacturer;
h) the battery pack model;
i) the battery pack dimensions, including length, width and height, in millimeters (mm);
j) the battery pack structure, i.e., the internal structural integration configuration of the battery pack;
k) the series and parallel configuration, i.e., the series-parallel arrangement of the internal structure of the battery pack;
l) the battery pack mass, i.e., the design mass of the battery pack, in kilograms (kg).
5.2.1.2 Performance parameter information The performance parameter information shall include the following.
