GB/T 47388-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the vocabulary of silk farming - the mulberry and its cultivation, the silkworm and its rearing through each instar, the cocoon and its grading, the diseases, and the terms of a craft China has practised for five thousand years. At 24,500 words, first edition, in force since 1 November 2026. It was issued on 30 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 November 2026, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. 4 Oak Terminology
4.1 oak tree A general term for plants of the genus *Quercus* in the family Fagaceae.
Note. This mainly includes species such as Quercus acutissima, Quercus variabilis, Quercus liaotungensis, Quercus mongolica, and Quercus serrata.

4.3 Chinese oak silkworm ecological garden A tussah silkworm rearing site that has economic and ecological functions and can be sustainably utilized.

5.1 General Terminology
5.1.1 silkworm variety A silkworm population that shares a common parental origin, relative genetic stability, and consistency in biological and economic traits. Note

2.Silkworm varieties are also classified according to lineage into Chinese system, Japanese system, European system, tropical system, etc.

5.1.4 pupa stage The stage in which silkworm larvae transition into adults.

5.2 Sericulture Terminology
5.2.1 silkworm silkworm Silk-secreting insects belonging to the genus Bombyx moth of the family Bombycidae in the order Lepidoptera, which have been domesticated and whose main food is mulberry leaves.

5.3.2 Grand parent eggs of Chinese oak silkworm Tussah silkworms are used for breeding and propagation of original varieties.

Note. Depending on the processing technology, mulberry leaf vegetables are divided into fresh mulberry leaf vegetables, quick-frozen mulberry leaf vegetables, and dehydrated mulberry leaf vegetables.
7.2 Mulberry Leaf Tempura Food made from mulberry leaves by coating them in batter and deep-frying.
7.3 Mulberry tea Products made primarily from mulberry buds or leaves using tea processing techniques.
Note. Depending on the processing method, it is divided into mulberry leaf green tea, mulberry leaf oolong tea, mulberry leaf black tea, etc.
7.4 Mulberry leaf powder It is a powdered product with a particle size of less than 10µm, made from mulberry leaves through ultra-fine grinding.
7.5 Mulberry leaf extract An extract obtained by solvent extraction from mulberry leaves.
Note. Depending on the solvent used for extraction, mulberry leaf extracts are mainly divided into mulberry leaf water extract and mulberry leaf alcohol extract.
