1 Scope

GB/T 47364-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering what a beef animal needs to eat - the energy, protein, minerals and vitamins by weight, growth rate and physiological state, in the tables a nutritionist formulates a ration from. At 29,000 words it is a reference work rather than a specification, and it is China's counterpart to the NRC tables. First edition, in force since 1 October 2026. It was issued on 31 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 October 2026, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. This document specifies the nutritional requirements for small, medium, and large-sized beef cattle. This document is applicable to guide feed companies and various types of farms (households) in the formulation, feeding management, and nutritional assessment of beef cattle rations.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10647 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Nutrient requirements The minimum amount of nutrients required by an animal to maintain normal physiological functions, physical health, and achieve specific production performance. [Source: GB/T 10647-2008, 2.23, with modifications]

3.2 Small frame-type beef cattle Cows with a mature weight of 300 kg or less, and bulls with a mature weight of 450 kg or less. Note

2.Representative breeds include Jinjiang cattle, Leiqiong cattle, Wuling cattle, Wenshan cattle, and their hybrids.
