Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document is modified to adopt ISO 4853:2023 "Marine and marine technology, Type A gantry systems".

The technical differences between this document and ISO 4853:2023, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

---The composition of the Type A gantry system has been modified (see 3.1) to conform to domestic standards and common practices for Type A gantry systems;

---The matching winch in the Type A gantry assembly (see 3.2) has been removed. The matching winch should be included in the Type A gantry system, as per 3.1.

Note. Type A gantry cranes do not include a matching winch.

---Change "towing cable winch" to "matching winch" (see 3.7), corresponding to 3.1;

---Change "Cockpit Control Panel" to "Main Control Panel" (see 4.3), and the overload alarm indicator should be displayed on the main control panel;

---Change "Type A gantry systems should have emergency release function" to "Type A gantry systems should preferably have emergency release function" (see...) 4.4) Considering that some Type A gantry systems do not have an emergency release function, this is consistent with industry requirements.

The following editorial changes have been made to this document.

---References that were not cited in the text have been removed.

Please note that some content in this document may involve patents. The issuing organization of this document assumes no responsibility for identifying patents.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in ISO 3828 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Installed at the stern or sides of the deck, it is used for lifting, towing, and recovering equipment, and mainly consists of an A-type gantry (3.2) and a matching winch.

(3.3) It consists of steel cables, hydraulic units, etc.

A-frame

It consists of a main structure, hydraulic cylinders, a transverse trolley (if any), a telescopic frame (for stabilizing swaying, if any), and a pulley system, etc., and works through the coordinated operation of the mechanism.

The task involves lifting, lateral movement (if any), lowering, and retrieving the equipment.

Note. The cable is aligned by moving the lateral trolley (if any) left and right; the swaying of the hoisted object is reduced by using the telescopic frame (if any) and hydraulic cylinder buffer.

Associated winch

Working in conjunction with the A-type gantry (3.2), it completes the lifting of underwater equipment and the towing of equipment in the sea by raising and lowering the wire rope.

Note. The matching winch can also be used as a cable winch or other functional winches, and can be used with an A-type gantry to realize the hoisting and lowering function of submersibles and other operating equipment.

Safeworkingload;SWL

The maximum static load that a properly installed lifting device can lift under its design operating conditions.

Operating conditions the operating conditions of the Type A gantry system (3.1) when the safe working load (3.4) is determined.

Note. The maximum heel, pitch, roll, and pitch angles of the ship as required by the user are used to determine the vibrations that the equipment can withstand during normal ship operation.
