1 Scope

This document defines the terminology for Hanyuan pepper, and specifies the geographical scope, production environment, technical requirements, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, and storage.

Transportation and preservation, and the corresponding experimental methods are described.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 30391 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Hanyuan peppercorns;

Made from fresh chili peppers grown within the designated production area, processed through drying and screening, these peppers are characterized by their large size, high oil content, and bright red color.

Dried Sichuan peppercorns are characterized by their red color, rich aroma, and mellow, numbing, and refreshing taste.

Note. The fruit of the Gongjiao pepper is commonly known as "mother-child pepper" or "baby pepper", referring to the pepper fruit with 1 to 3 small, fleshy pepper pieces attached to each other.

4 Production area

The geographical indication product Hanyuan pepper's production area is limited to the area specified in the approval announcement issued by the State Intellectual Property Administration.

The area refers to the current administrative region of Hanyuan County, Sichuan Province, with the specific scope as specified in Appendix A.
