1 Scope

GB/T 47059-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering working out how a wildfire started and what it destroyed - the origin and cause investigation on burnt ground, the mapping of the perimeter, and the valuation of the timber, the buildings, the carbon and the ecosystem lost. First edition, in force since 1 May 2026. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 May 2026, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. This document establishes the procedures for investigating the causes of forest and grassland fires (hereinafter referred to as "fire cause investigation") and assessing losses, and specifies the procedures for each stage. The operational instructions describe the corresponding investigation and evaluation methods. This document applies to forest and grassland fire cause investigation and loss assessment.
