3.1.2 surface fire detector Sensing devices that use infrared, ultraviolet and visible light technologies to detect, identify and warn of surface fires in forests and grasslands.

Note. This includes self-organizing wireless network type and mobile wireless network type detectors, hereinafter collectively referred to as "detectors".
