GB/T 46869-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering how the gross ecosystem product of a territory is accounted for - putting a monetary value on what land produces without being sold: water regulation, carbon sequestration, soil retention, flood mitigation, pollination and the landscape people visit. GEP is China's counterpart to GDP for natural capital, and several provinces already report it. At 35,000 words this is the technical basis: the categories, the physical measurement of each service, the valuation methods and the reporting. First edition. It was issued on 31 December 2025 and has been in force since 31 December 2025, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the Standardization Administration of China. This page is published from the official record of the 2025 edition; the clause text of a standard this recent is not yet in circulation, and the figures, limits and tables it contains are those of the document itself, delivered in full with the English translation.
