This document specifies the classification and statistical methods for diving operation accidents. This document applies to the classification and statistics of diving operation accidents; it can also be used as a reference for high-pressure operation accidents.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 6441-1986, GB/T 15499 and JT/T 1452, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1 Lost workdays The working hours during which the injured diver is incapacitated. [Source: GB/T 15499-1995, 3.3, with modifications]
3.2 restricted work Divers are unable to work normally in their original positions due to injury or occupational disease.
3.3 medical treatment Treatment and care for injuries or illnesses that do not result in loss of function in divers.
Note. Medical treatment does not include visits for observation or consultation only, diagnostic procedures, or any simple medical treatment.
3.4 Diving accident Injuries, illnesses, or dangerous events that occur to divers during diving operations.
3.5 Diving accident rate (DAR) The proportion of diving operation accidents occurring within the total annual working hours of a diving contractor, converted to a base of.200,000 working hours.
