Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document adopts ISO 7918:1995 "Dimensions of guards for cutting accessories of forestry machinery, portable brush cutters and lawn mowers".

The following minimal editorial changes have been made to this document.

---To align with existing standards, the standard name has been changed to "Dimensions of Cutting Accessory Covers for Portable Brush Cutters and Lawn Mowers".

1 Scope

This document specifies the cutting attachments for portable handheld brush cutters (including circular saw blade brush cutters) and lawn mowers powered by internal combustion engines. Minimum size requirements for protective covers.

This document does not apply to lawn mowers as defined in ISO 105181.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in ISO 11806 (all parts) apply to this document.

The cutter attachment guard should cover a fan-shaped area at the rear of the cutter attachment as shown in the following figures.

The lower rear edge of the protective cover should cover the cutting attachment as shown in Figures 1, 2, and 3 and should be rounded to avoid obstruction from tree stumps or other obstacles. It gets hooked when it moves upwards.

The required shield dimensions also depend on the parabolic test and requirements given in ISO 11806 (all parts).
