1 Scope

GB/T 46589-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the heat balance of a spray dryer - the fuel in, the water evaporated, the losses in the exhaust and through the walls, and the efficiency that comes out of it, on the single largest energy consumer in a tile plant. First edition, in force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 31 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026.

This document specifies the units, symbols, and standards for the determination and calculation of heat balance and thermal efficiency in ceramic spray drying towers, as well as the heat balance boundary diagram and measurement... Project and measurement methods, material balance calculation methods, heat balance calculation methods, and thermal efficiency calculation methods. This document applies to the determination and calculation of heat balance and thermal efficiency of spray drying towers used for preparing building ceramic powders with fuel as the main heat source.
