Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document is equivalent to ISO 34000:2023 "Date and Time Vocabulary".

Please note that some content in this document may involve patents. The issuing organization of this document assumes no responsibility for identifying patents.

This document was proposed and is under the jurisdiction of the National Electronic Business Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC83).

1 Scope

This document defines the concepts, vocabulary, and representations related to dates and times.

This document applies to the representation and use of dates and times. Other standards related to dates and times should be used as a reference for their development and communication.

2 Normative references

This document has no normative references.

3 Basic Vocabulary

date

The time (3.2) on the calendar (6.1) hour marker (3.5).

Note. Commonly used date formats include calendar date (7.8), ordinal date (7.9) or weekday date (7.10).

time

Marking of a moment (3.4) or time interval (3.6) at a specific time scale (3.5).

Note 1.In this document, the word "time" is used only when its meaning is clear from the context.

Note 2.In a time period consisting of consecutive time intervals, such as a clock system (5.1) or a calendar system (6.1), different moments can be represented by the same time.

Note 3.This definition is close to the definition of "date" in GB/T 2900.93-2015,113-01-12.

3.2.1

propertime

Time (3.2) on the inherent time scale (4.1).

Note. See ITU-RTF.2018-0 and BIPMSI Brochure for more information.

3.2.2

coordinatetime

The time on the coordinate time scale (4.2).

Note 1.Coordinate time is a mathematical coordinate in four-dimensional spacetime. For a given event, coordinate time has the same value everywhere.

Note 2.Coordinates cannot be measured; instead, they are calculated based on the clock's natural time (3.2.1).

Note 3.The relationship between coordinate time and proper time depends on the position and motion of the clock in its gravitational environment and is derived by integration over the spacetime interval.

Note 4.See ITU-RTF.2018-0 and BIPMSI Brochure for more information.

timeaxis

Instantaneous events are arranged on a unique axis based on spacetime, and represented mathematically.

Note 1.According to special relativity, the time axis depends on the choice of spatial reference frame.

Note 2.Spatiotemporal time differs from the term "time" in this document. Refer to section 113-01-03 of GB/T 2900.93-2015, which is defined as a time-space...

A dimensional subspace, which is orthogonal to the space in a local area.
