This document describes the test methods for the reflective properties of textiles. This document applies to all types of textiles.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB 20653 and GB/T 40965, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1 reflective material A material with a thin, continuous retroreflective element attached to its surface.
Note. Retroreflective element refers to the smallest optical unit of a reflective surface that produces retroreflection through refraction, reflection, or both.
3.2 The material yields a reflective material with a retroreflection coefficient difference greater than 15% when rotated at angles of 0° and 90°. [Source: GB 20653-2020, 3.8]
3.3 observation angle The angle between the direction of observation and the direction of illumination from the light source.

3.4 angle of incidence The angle between the direction of the light source and the direction perpendicular to the fabric surface.
