3.1 General terms

Sampling of chemical products can be considered as a multi-stage sampling (see ISO 3534-2 of 1.3.101)) (usually two), by definition, transferred Bottom of this page. The following definitions of general terms mostly follow the ISO 3534.

1) 1.3.10 multistage sampling. one sequential sampling methods, sampling each unit is a larger unit in the preceding stage sampling selected again.

Sampling unit Limited amount of material, which limit may be tangible, such as a container, it could be envisaged, such as between a specific time or material flow Interval time.

Note 1. The number of sampling units can be collected together, for example, packed in a bag or box.

Note 2. In English, "individual" (individual), "unit" (unit) and the "item" (item) in the practical application sometimes "sampling unit" (samplingunit) is Synonymous.

3.1.2

Increment

Quantitative material with a sample from a sampling unit once acquired.

3.1.3

Sample

One or more sample units taken from a larger number of sampling units, or obtained from a sampling unit in one or several samples.

Note 1. The sample can be obtained from a sample or parts of a sampling unit, or a plurality of parts from a merger or a plurality of sampling means samples obtained.

Note 2. "Sample" (specimen) of the word, in some cases, especially for some discrete sampling materials, used instead of "sample" (sample).

3.1.4

Representative samples representativesample One kind of quarried material samples have the same composition, and this material is considered to be completely uniform.

3.1.5

Sampling scheme samplingplan in order to obtain the necessary understanding of the characteristic (see 3.2.15) from the final sample (see 3.2.9) to make a judgment on the goods (see 3.2.1) Off, and select one or several predetermined program preparation of samples from the shipment.

NOTE. In consideration of cost, efficiency and time, usually determine a tolerable sampling error.
