1 Scope

GB/T 46339-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering saving a threatened plant species - the survey of what remains and the threats to it, the in situ protection of the habitat, the ex situ collection and propagation, the reintroduction and its site selection, and the monitoring over the years it takes to know whether it worked. This document establishes the process for the protection and restoration of rare and endangered wild plants, and stipulates in-situ conservation, ex-situ conservation, and the protection of core wild germplasm resources. Requirements related to source preservation, wild population restoration, reintroduction into the wild, and information archiving and management. This document applies to the protection and restoration of various rare and endangered terrestrial wild plants in my country, specifically including the "List of National Key Protected Wild Plants". Plant species listed in the appendices of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the China Red List of Biodiversity - Higher Plants Threatened species listed in the "Catalogue of Threatened Species (2020)" and the "IUCN Red List of Threatened Species," as well as species identified through scientific surveys and evaluations. 3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in LY/T 1819 and LY/T 2590, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
