1 Scope

This document defines the basic terminology of the Automatic Identification System (AIS), as well as AIS equipment, infrastructure, wireless links, AIS reports, Common terms and definitions for AIS, AIS services, and satellite-based AIS.

This document is applicable to the scientific research, teaching, design, manufacturing and application of the Automatic Identification System (AIS) in the field of shipbuilding, as well as related standards and Preparation of technical documents, etc.

3 Basic Terminology

3.1 information to enable systems for identification, collision avoidance, and navigation

The VHF maritime mobile service band uses self-organizing time division multiple access to automatically broadcast and receive ship dynamic and static information.
