Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020
Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents.
This document is Part 1 of GB/T 45850 Packaging sacks - Conditioning for testing.
GB/T 45850 has been published in the following parts.
-- Part 1.Paper sacks.
This document is modified in relation to ISO 6599-1.1983 Packaging - Sacks -
Conditioning for testing - Part 1.Paper sacks.
This document has a number of structural adjustments compared to ISO 6599-1.1983.
A table comparing the structural numbers between the two documents is given in
Appendix A.
The technical differences between this document and ISO 6599-1.1983 and their
reasons are as follows.
-- The requirements for "digital thermometers and hygrometers, mechanical
thermometers and hygrometers, electric ventilation psychrometers or
mechanical ventilation psychrometers and other measuring instruments" have
been added (see 6.2) to meet the needs of technological progress and
development.
The following editorial changes have been made to this document.
-- To coordinate with the existing standard, the name of the standard is changed to
"Packaging sacks - Conditioning for testing - Part 1.Paper sacks";
-- The introductory notes on paper testing have been deleted, and the scope and
application fields have been merged (see Chapter 1; see Chapter 1 and Chapter
2 of ISO 6599-1.1983);
-- The explanatory descriptions referring to ISO 187 and ISO 544 have been deleted
(see the Note to Chapter 6 and Note 1 to Chapter 8 of ISO 6599-1.1983);
-- The example of "for example with calibrated wet and dry bulb thermometers"
has been deleted (see 7.1 of ISO 6599-1.1983);
-- The description of a further period for moisture equilibration for the paper sack
has been deleted (see Note 2 to Chapter 8 of ISO 6599-1.1983);

sacks
1 Scope
This document describes the complete empty paper sack pre-test and in-test
conditioning environment and sample conditioning methods.
This document applies to all types of empty paper sacks specified in GB/T 17858.1.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this
document through normative references in this text. For any dated reference, only the
version corresponding to that date applies to this document. For any undated reference,

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 relative humidity
R.H.
The ratio of absolute humidity to saturation humidity in air at the same temperature and
pressure.
NOTE. It is usually expressed as a percentage. At room temperature, it is approximately equal to the
ratio of the actual vapor pressure to the saturated vapor pressure at the same (dry bulb) temperature.
3.2 conditioning
The process of achieving temperature and moisture content equilibrium between empty
paper sacks and an environment with specified temperature and relative humidity.
4 Principle
The empty paper sack is exposed to a specified conditioning environment so that the
empty paper sack reaches a state of temperature and moisture content equilibrium with
the environment.
5 Conditioning environment
Table 1 shows the appropriate conditioning environment. Unless otherwise specified in
the relevant specifications or test methods, or otherwise agreed upon between the
relevant parties, the 23/50 environmental conditions shall be used.
6 Equipment and facilities
6.1 Laboratory and measuring instruments
Conditioning laboratories shall be equipped with automated equipment that can
regulate the air to standard temperature and relative humidity conditions and circulate
the air to ensure consistent environmental conditions at all relevant points within the
laboratory. It is recommended that recording temperature and humidity measuring
instruments be retained within the test space to check environmental conditions and
calibrated regularly according to standard methods.
6.2 Determination of temperature and relative humidity
The temperature and relative humidity of the conditioning air shall be measured by
reliable methods.
When measuring instruments (such as digital thermometers and hygrometers,
mechanical thermometers and hygrometers, and electric ventilation psychrometers or
mechanical ventilation psychrometers) are used, the accuracy of the instruments shall
be able to meet the measurement requirements.
If a wet and dry bulb hygrometer is used, it shall be placed in an airflow with the wind
speed required by the parameter table, and the wind speed shall not be less than 2 m/s.
At the same temperature, the difference between the readings of two thermometers in
