GB/T 45554-2025 is the English-translated version of 种猪生产性能测定技术规范.
GB/T 45554-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering measuring what a breeding pig produces — the basic conditions for a central test station or an on-farm test, the measurement items and the target weight at which they are taken, the backfat thickness and eye muscle area read by ultrasound on the live animal, the methods and the rounding of the values, and the records and archives, because a phenotype recorded without its conditions cannot be compared between herds. It applies to lean pigs, defined as a carcass lean meat percentage of not less than 55.0. First edition, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025.

1 Scope
This document specifies the basic conditions, measurement items, and record and archive requirements for measuring production performance of breeding pigs, and describes the measurement methods.
This document is applicable to the production performance measurement of lean pigs. Other economic types of pigs can refer to it.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Lean pig
Pigs with a carcass lean meat percentage of not less than 55.0%.
3.2 performance test
The process of observing and measuring the phenotypic value of individual performance under certain conditions.
3.3 Center test stationtest
The breeding pigs from different sources are placed in a third-party testing site with consistent nutritional levels and environmental conditions to measure their specific weight stages.

3.4 On-farm test
The tested individuals are placed in the same testing site with the same nutritional level and environmental conditions to be raised and their production performance at a specific stage is measured. Phenotypic values.
