Scope

GB/T 45488-2025 is the English-translated version of 船舶与海上技术防火水密舱口盖.

GB/T 45488-2025 covers fireproof watertight hatch covers, the closures that keep both water and fire out of an opening in a ship deck. It gives their classification and marking, the material and processing quality requirements, the tests, the status display and the rules for marking, packaging, transport and storage.

Covers are sorted by shape into Type A, round, and Type B, square or rectangular, and by fire rating into A-60, A-30 and A-0, with structures and main dimensions tabulated for each type.

It applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of covers fitted on ship decks at a water pressure of 0.1 MPa. Shipyards, outfitting suppliers and inspection bodies use it.

Identical to ISO 24169:2022, it was issued on 28 March 2025 and applies from 1 July 2025.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting is required.

This document is equivalent to ISO 24169:2022 "Fireproof and watertight hatch covers for ships and offshore technology".

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, marking, requirements, test methods, Inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

This document applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of fireproof and watertight hatch covers installed on ship decks with a water pressure of 0.1 MPa.

4 Classification and labeling

4.1 Type

4.1.1 Hatch covers are to be classified into the following two types according to their shapes.

a) Type A. round hatch cover;

b) Type B - square or rectangular hatch cover.

4.1.2 According to the fire protection level, watertight hatch covers are to be divided into three levels. A-60, A-30 and A-0.

4.2.1 An example of the structure and main dimensions of type A hatch covers is shown in Figure 1 and Table 1.
