GB/T 45464-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering how much SBS is actually in a modified bitumen — the titration that measures the unsaturation of the binder, the test equipment and reagents, the sampling of the modified asphalt, the standard sample of known modifier content against which the unsaturation of the polymer is fixed, and the calculation of the modifier content as a mass fraction, which is what a supply contract is written against. First edition, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. In force from 1 October 2025. Issued on 28 March 2025, it has been in force since 1 October 2025.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 SBS modifier styrene-butadiene-styrenemodifier
Styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer (SBS) additive to improve the pavement performance of petroleum asphalt.
3.2 SBS modified asphalt
Asphalt binder with improved performance by adding a certain proportion of SBS modifier, stabilizer or other additives.
3.3 SBS modifier content
The mass fraction of SBS modifier and road petroleum asphalt in SBS modified asphalt.
3.4
A modified asphalt sample with a known SBS modifier content prepared according to the SBS modified asphalt production process.
3.5 Unsaturation
The content of carbon-carbon double bonds in SBS modifier.
