Scope

GB/T 45454-2025 is the English-translated version of 压缩模和注射模浇注系统零件.

GB/T 45454-2025 is the Chinese national standard that names and describes the parts of the gating systems used in compression and injection moulds, so that the trade works from one vocabulary.

It groups them into conventional gating systems, hot halves and cold runner systems and goes through them with figures and tables: the sprue bushing feeding a mould directly or indirectly, the temperature-controlled sprue bushing for thermosets, the four-drop hot half, hot runner sprue bushings with and without a heater, externally heated manifold plates and their fittings, thermal seals, needle valve nozzles, internally heated systems and the parts of a cold runner.

It serves the moulding of thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers, and the values shown in the figures are examples, not design data. Identical to ISO 28238:2010, it was issued and came into force on 28 March 2025.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document is equivalent to ISO 28238:2010 "Components of gating systems for compression and injection moulds".

1 Scope

This document specifies the characteristics of parts of injection mould gating systems for the moulding of thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers.

Hot runner system, internal hot runner system and cold runner gating system.

The purpose of this document is to establish uniform terminology for different gating systems.

Note 1. See Figures 1 to 12 for the gating system parts and some installation examples. All parameters in the figures are for example only and do not need to be considered when designing the mold.

Note 2. For terms and symbols for parts of compression moulds, injection moulds and die-casting moulds, see ISO 12165.
