Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document is Part 1 of GB/T 45451 "Plastic Drums for Packaging". GB/T 45451 has been published in the following parts.

--- Part 1: Removable cover (opening) drums with a nominal capacity of 113.6L to 220L;

--- Part 2: Non-detachable (closed) drums with a nominal capacity of 208.2 L to 220 L.

This document is modified to adopt ISO 20848-1:2006 "Plastic drums for packaging - Part 1: Recyclable drums with a nominal capacity of 113.6L to 220L" "Removing the lid (opening) the barrel".

This document has the following structural adjustments compared to ISO 20848-1:2006.

--- Added the second paragraph of Chapter 1 to define the scope of application of the document.

The technical differences between this document and ISO 20848-1:2006 and their reasons are as follows.

--- Changed the unit of the empty barrel mass m1 and the filled barrel mass m2 in Appendix A from "gram" to "kilogram" because the capacity of the plastic barrel the value is in liters, which is changed to facilitate the conversion of measurement results.

The following editorial changes were made to this document.

--- Changed the description of the first paragraph of Chapter 1, changing "features and dimensions" to "requirements and markings";

--- Deleted the relevant data in USgal in Table 1;

--- Deleted Note 2 in Table 1;

--- Deleted Note a in Table 1;

--- Added marking rules for plastic barrels in Chapter 5.

Introduction

As an excellent packaging medium, plastic barrels are widely used around the world. To standardize the common parameters of plastic barrels, it is conducive to the safe filling, handling and transportation of plastic barrels in countries around the world.

GB/T 45451 "Plastic Drums for Packaging" specifies the characteristic dimensions, markings, etc. of plastic drums and their closure systems.

Partial composition.

--- Part 1: Removable lid (open) drums with a nominal capacity of 113.6L to 220L. The purpose is to standardize the removable lid (open) drums Requirements and markings.

--- Part 2: Non-removable (closed) barrels with a nominal capacity of 208.2L to 220L. The purpose is to standardize non-removable (closed) barrels with a nominal capacity of 208.2L to 220L.

Bucket requirements and marking.

--- Part 3: Plug closure systems for plastic drums with a nominal capacity of 113.6L to 220L. The purpose is to standardize the closure system requirements.

If plastic drums are intended to be used to transport dangerous goods, they must comply with the regulatory requirements of relevant countries for the transportation of these goods. GB/T 45451 "Packaging "Packed in plastic barrels" does not involve hazardous packaging requirements.

1 Scope

This document specifies the requirements and mark.

This document applies to plastic drums with removable lids (openings) with a nominal capacity of 113.6L to 220L.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

A cylindrical package with flat or convex ends and a lid on the top, which is closed by a closing ring or other device and can be opened.

Nominal capacity; NC the capacity value marked on the container (in litres).

brimfulcapacity;BC

The volume of water contained in the bucket (in liters) when water is poured through the water filling hole until it overflows.

Note. For the measurement method of full capacity, see Appendix A.

Total capacity totalcapacity;TC the value (in liters) of water contained in the barrel when the lid is opened and the barrel is completely filled, that is, after all the air in the barrel has been removed.

Total heightoveralheight h0 the height of the finished barrel from the bottom to the highest point, including the height of the cap and closing ring.
