Scope

GB/T 45342-2025 is the English-translated version of 搪瓷制品和瓷釉 未处理饮用水供应系统用内外表面搪瓷的阀门和压力管配件 要求和试验方法.

GB/T 45342-2025 specifies, per clause 1, the requirements for valves and pressure pipe fittings with internal and external enamel used in untreated drinking water supply systems, and describes the corresponding test methods.

The same clause says it applies to the production, inspection and sale of such valves and fittings, and that it does not apply to enamelled products and accessories for chemical use.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 4956, GB/T 9989.1, GB/T 9989.2, GB/T 16422.1, GB/T 16422.2 and DIN 50929-3, and clause 3 defines two terms: micropore, a porous defect in the enamel layer originating from the base metal, and corrosion, a reaction with environmental media that changes the quality of the enamel material and goes on to destroy the function of the enamelled part or of the whole system.

The document is a modified adoption of ISO 11177:2019, and its foreword names, among the technical differences, a newly added test method for enamel surface quality at 5.1, the replacement of ISO 2178 by GB/T 4956 at 5.2, a changed test method for resistance to sudden temperature change at 5.4, the replacement of ISO 28706-2 and ISO 28706-1:2008 by GB/T 9989.2 and GB/T 9989.1 at 5.5 and 5.6, and the addition of GB/T 16422.1 and GB/T 16422.2 at 5.11.

The same foreword records three added annexes, Appendix B for the Mohs hardness method of determining enamel surface hardness, Appendix C for the enamel scratch test and Appendix D for the enamel wear test, as well as Appendix A, which tabulates the structure-number changes against ISO 11177:2019, and it notes that the test specimen clause and the test report clause of the ISO text were deleted and that the scope of application was widened.

The page carries no table of contents and the draft stops inside clause 3, so no clause after 3.2 is shown. It was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Metallic and Non-metallic Coverings (SAC/TC57).

The page records no earlier edition that it replaces; it was issued on 28 February 2025 and has applied since 1 September 2025.
